June Discussion: Summer Wines-Share your favorites.

For the month of June I would like to discuss summer wines.  As the summer months are approaching, what wine will you reach for to quench that summer thirst?

With our new Spring & Summer Inventory, we selected wines that are lighter in style and refreshing for those days when you just need to cool off.  For summer, I personally enjoy white wines the best, because they are cool, although there are some reds that can be chilled as well.  With all the choices out there for wines, why not try them all?

A small selection of enjoyable wines are: for whites: Hans Lange Blanc de Noir (White Pinot Noir) from Germany & New Age (Sauvignon Blanc) from Argentina, For reds: Bloom Red Petals (Dornfelder) from Germany & La Mura Rose (Nero d’avola) from Italy.  (You can find the wine descriptions on the maps page of our website under the country the wine is made from.  www.thewinehousesite.com)  The wines can be chilled and will be very refreshing on a hot day.  So, I think I am going to go for anything chilled, what will you have?

May “Women with Taste”

Dry Creek Vineyard Logo

For our May “Women with Taste” wine tasting we featured Dry Creek Vineyards, a family owned winery.  The vice president of this winery is the second generation to run the winery and is the founder’s daughter, Kim Stare Wallace.  In addition, they also have a female winemaker, Lisa Bishop Forbes.  For those who didn’t make the wine tasting, you can view the wines and read additional information about Dry Creek Vineyards on our website (www.thewinehousesite.com, go to “women with taste” page and click on Dry Creek Vineyard logo).
